Port records are available to the public by request, subject only to the exceptions contained in the Washington State Public Records Act (RCW 42.56).

Request records or search past requests

Note: The Port is not authorized to provide public records consisting of a list of individuals for a commercial use. RCW 42.56.070(8).

By policy, and as allowed by law, the Port does not maintain an index of records as it would be unduly burdensome to index all the Port’s records given the wide range of Port activities, limited staff availability and the excessive amount of time it would take to develop and maintain such an index.  RCW  42.17.260(9)

View all awarded contracts. In compliance with RCW 42.56.270, contract records are not available until a contract has been awarded and finalized. Requests submitted prior to finalization of a contract will need to be resubmitted.

View commission records, including agendas, minutes, meeting video and audio. For records prior to March 20, 2008, submit a request through our online record system.

Requests for Port of Tacoma public records are processed through our online record system. The system includes a searchable library that makes it easy to find records already available through previous requests. The Port uses the system to share information and efficiently fulfill requests.

The online system notifies requesters throughout the request process. It allows requestors to track the request online, and view and download records when they are made available.
